Sometimes...

...Silence...
is the best
answer.

Thursday, June 30, 2005

Where do all these...

... idiot polls come from? The only polls I ever get stuck with are marketing polls. Seems damnably silly to have Franciscans answer questions about how they spend their money. Well, on the other hand, that may be why polls show that the economy is so bad.

Or maybe it's part of a hidden agenda to undermine confidence in the government. Oh dear. I may have, unwittingly, become part of an antiweepublicanhiddenagender...

Go figure.

Getting giggly in the bog. Must sleep again now.

I finally got to...

... mediaright's Libratas. Go and read/see/listen to it. They should get a Golden Froggie Statuette at the Golden Froggie awards this year. The time I spent thrashing around my computer to get to it was well spent. Even struggling with dial up and narrow band, if you can get into it, IT'S WORTH THE STRUGGLE!

http://www.mediaright.ca/libratas/intro.htm

I may have had a tough time getting into it because it is crowded to get into. Go thee hence and enjoy! Even my liberal cousin (with notably small sense of humor - unless someone else's oxen are being gored) could learn to laugh at it.

Rolling around in the mud (Hey - it is a swamp) with laughter...

More to celebrate...

...in July! Like all eMail this is backwards. What The Frog's response to the email that came before (which is printed after {which is why I'm so confused}) and is below the Frog's response. This whole thing comes under the heading of 'Technolgy Challenges Logic'. Logically speaking...
. . . . .

What's an evolution. I think, maybe that sounds like something we did in the military. Being a basic Franciscan sort (now - as opposed to a mostly heathen sort then), we are all brothers. We are created from the same dust and animated by the same Holy Spirit. Like it or not, I'm afraid that means that I am also brother to Dastardly Dickie Durbin and Petulant Little Teddy Kennedy. That doesn't mean that I like them (wow-what a master of understatement-sometimes my eloquence amazes even me). Of course, they might not much care for being kith and kin to a conservative green frog. Every family has members that really belong in a closet, a dungeon, an asylum and definitely somewhere else. I may not like them, but the freedom thing is a 2 edged sword and I have to put up with them. I may be willing to fight them to death over what they say, but I am also willing to defend to the my death their right to say it.

A conservative will fight to the death. A Demorat (there are still a few admirable liberals{non Demorat-I mean real liberals}, but they are getting fewer and farther between) will fight until it doesn't feel good anymore.

Something to be cheerful about on both sides of the border is that we can pray in directions other than pointed at Mecca and that girls can adorn the beaches in bikinis and not burquas.

So, let's spend 6/30 through 7/5 reveling in freedom and to heck with the politics, semantics and theologics.

God Bless all of North America!

Saluting you from the bog,

Kermit the Green

PS - Here's something to be proud of. There was at least one Division of Canadians that we were side to side with on the beaches of Normandy! That's something we can all cheer about.

PPS - I got the dreaded red X with no pictures at the /libratas link.

So, you think frogs are pretty smart eh! You'll to see where on the evolutionary scale you fit in with Libratas Americana:

Happy July 4th to you.... we are celebrating our sad sad Liberal country on July 1st; not a lot of cheering among us conservatives.

Cheers!

the 4th of July...

... is not just a date on the calender. It's a date with desitiny.

From another time...

...but still wise...

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution or that have failed their purpose, or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden. I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is "needed'' before I have first determined whether it is constitutionally permissible. And if I should later be attacked for neglecting my constituents "interests", I shall reply that I was informed that their main interest is liberty and that in that cause I am doing the very best I can.

And now, from...

...the Manchester Terrier (ala- Black Five)

June 26, 2005

Congressman Kucinich and insurgent leadership make same demands of Bush

Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich,
speaking on the House floor: "But this war can end another way. It can end if enough members of Congress consider and cosponsor H.J. Res 55, a bi-partisan bill introduced last week, to require the President to initiate troop withdrawal no later than October 1, 2006. Thank the troops, and bring them home."

US 'in talks with Iraq rebels' - Sunday Times - Times Online:
The Iraqis had agreed beforehand to focus on their main demand, “a guaranteed timetable of American withdrawal from Iraq”, the source said. “We told them it did not matter whether we are talking about one year or a five-year plan but that we insisted on having a timetable nonetheless.”What esteemed company the authors of Res 55 find themselves in! The Americans were meeting with Ansar Al Sunnah, The Islamic Army of Iraq, the Iraqi Liberation Army, and Jaish Mohammed.

Why have I not seen the FULL STORY in the US Press/NEWS MEDIA? Could it be that the DONKS (whoa-ugly connotations)... Could it be that DEMORATS (whoa not pleasant sounding or warm and cuddly)... Could it be that the LIBERALS (whoa! doesn't 'Liberalism' stand for anything other than destruction anymore...) Could there be a CONSPIRACY, A VERITABLE HIDDEN AGENDA amongst the MINORITY IN CONGRESS which is being covered up because they have a wrap on the media? Well of course not, I'm sure that the DONKS and the turncoat WEEPUBLICANS are... (I'm sorry, even a Big Green Frog doesn't use that sort of lamguage!) please finish that statement for yourself using whatever warm and cuddly words make you feel good. They are simply misguided people. We should try to understand them. Kiss their bloody bums. And keep on reelecting them so that we don't have to put up with the... (Kermit is going under water for a moment... gurgle... gurgle... there, that's better) really swell people out here in the real world!

If it wasn't the middle of July, the Frog would burrow into the mud and Hibernate. The good news is that the ship-of-fools will be leaving the pier for the Summer recess. Democracy may be safe for a little while. Thank God that the Bog is in a RED STATE!

I love this concept...

...They have a "right to hand out pamphlets". We have a "right to shred the pampmplets" for those people who choose not keep them! I love this idea. I think that the Frog may organize a few bog denizens for this deal.

This is a hoot. Take a look at...

Just in the event that...

you're feeling wildly masochistic, you might want to read (I believe these are relatively complete) transcripts of the wit and wisdom of Teddy (my hero and driver through the swamp) Kennedy. These can be found at...
. . . . .
. . . . .
This will take you to a bunch of stuff for 6/23/05. You will have to work your way down the page to get to the heading (above). Read the commentary or mose on down to the transcrips. It is humorous reading, but you might want to keep a barf bag nearby. Better yet, if you click on the transcripts and have your audio on, you will be able to HEAR the recording of the wit and wisdom of Our Boy Teddy.
Yours for better living through politics,
Kermit the Green
